Diablo Immortal Bug Puzzles Players Again, with Reduced EXP

Players of the RPG Diablo Immortal are being perplexed by a bug dubbed "Diablo Immortal". The cause this time is randomly reduced EXP value obtained from enemies when farming. A few of the free-to-play game's most passionate grinding enthusiasts have been trying to determine the root of the problem that has caused farming to become less effective due to random inconsistencies with the earned experience value.

Reddit user staplepies posted his research about the subject to the game’s subreddit. Staplepies, who says they are among the best farming experts on the American servers, and were among the first players to reach paragon level 150, dug into the mysterious experience bug in depth after a long time studying the phenomenon.

The examples provided are for the Shassar Oasis zone, but Staplepies comments that the bug "happens everywhere I've tested in some way."  Eighteightsix Due to their high paragon level (generally 13-14 levels above the server paragon levels) the amount of experience they earn is already lower than the base amount, meaning that they are only expecting to earn 10 percent of the default amount - this is expected and is Diablo Immortal's way of keeping a server's population levelling at roughly similar pace.

However, Staplepies began be aware of oddities in the values of experience that were appearing in their log. Shassar Oasis has three distinct enemies: Dust Imps (54XP), Drubs (48% XP) and Sand Golems (1129 XP). When everything is working normal and the location is in good order, these three numbers should be the only ones that pop up in the location while fighting non-elite mobs (Staplepies states that the bug also affects elite mobs, however, they have not included these in their examples to make the numbers simple).

The numbers then start to become more bizarre. Some are less than expected, such as the Dust Imp giving 42 experience instead of the expected 54. Others dropping as low as 1 or 2 for mobs. Staplepies states that "when things get really bad, you can observe kills and runs, that are all bugged. is affected by a bug." Furthermore the bug could alter the experience globes, that can be dropped randomly and may not always correspond to the bugged kill experience value.

Staplepies also tested the bug in the context of a party. They stated that the bug affects all players in their group but not at the exact time or with the same values. It occurs when playing on your own or in a group and isn't affected by party size or proximity. They also tested to ensure that the random numbers weren't being generated by other sources such as events or quests and they found that the issue is happening for folks at multiple different levels (meaning that it's not always tied to the penalty for experience for being at higher paragon level than the server).

There are some other factors that they still have in mind as well. Staplepies claims that they've noticed a higher proportion of bugged experience values in certain zones and that the percentage of values that have been bugged has varied at specific times of the day. They are now investigating whether activity by players in a zone or server could be the reason for instance, an excessive number of players could cause an issue with the code.

Whatever the cause actually is, it's proving troublesome for players who are committed to farming. Higher paragon levels can help players compete without spending a lot of money. Staplepies describes himself as a player with a modest budget but can compete with players with resonance levels ranging from 3-5x to three times for several days. They can also be among the first to achieve an additional paragon level until other players catch up. They are open to suggestions and ideas from anyone who may have an idea or a suggestion to help them determine the root cause.
